Connecting your active WhatsApp number

Before you start, make sure you have all the required permissions ⬈
You can bring automation and AI tools to your existing business number in WhatsApp. Key benefits include:
  • Keep your current WhatsApp business number
  • Keep all your contacts, chat history
  • Add Fuely AI to WhatsApp chats
  • Connect CRMs and other tools
In other words, you’ll continue using WhatsApp Business app exactly as you do now, but add Chatfuel on top of your workflow.

How to connect existing number

Check if this feature is available in your country before trying to connect.
1. Go to panel.chatfuel.com and open Settings.
2. Click on Add number, then Connect new number.

3. Continue as yourself in the popup window.

4. Click on Get Started to continue.

5. Fill out your business info: business portfolio, name, website and country.

6. Select the option to Connect your existing WhatsApp Business App.

7. After you enter your WhatsApp Business number, you’ll see a QR code on your screen.

8. Check your WhatsApp Business app for a message from Facebook Business and tap on Scan QR code.

9. Confirm your choice by tapping Scan QR code and Share chats to save your chat history to Chatfuel.

10. Click Finish in the connection pop-up.

Done. Your current WhatsApp number is now connected to Chatfuel. It should look like this in your settings.

Finding imported contacts

If you choose to share contacts during connecting, you can later find them in the Contacts tab.
All imported contacts will have the Imported from WhatsApp Business App property.
