1. Ask your friends to give you feedback on the first version of your bot, as well as share the bot’s m.me/ link with their contacts. Direct m.me/ link to your bot can be found next to your bot’s name in the dashboard’s header.
2. Place a “Share this bot” button in the Persistent Menu (see “Configure” tab) leading to a block containing a gallery card with a “Share” button.
3. Employ an influencer, or a public figure (if you have access to one) to try your bot and share their thoughts on it through social media. Influencer marketing goes a long way when trying to promote your chatbot.
5. Make use of Facebook’s “Checkbox Plugin” in form-based flow on your website. This plugin allows you to authenticate people with Messenger and start a thread using your website. It is similar to the “Send to Messenger” button but helps eliminate a step for the user. The plugin is optimized for forms where you want to provide a seamless way for people to receive updates via Messenger.

6. Promote your bot on your existing social media accounts. To increase the visibility and engagement of the post promoting the chatbot, it helps to pin it to the top of your feed. It also helps to include a video screencast of the bot flow, which will offer potential users the ability to see what your bot does to draw their attention.
In addition to regular posts, reaching your existing social media subscribers organically, try using paid social media posts to reach new subscribers from wider target audiences.
7. Use Messenger as a Destination for News Feed Ads. Facebook gives you the ability to set up ads in News Feed that drive people to chat with your bot on Messenger. Similar to existing Facebook ads, developers and businesses have the option to select their target audiences and delivery times.
8. Add a “Send Message” button on your Facebook page. This will enable your page visitors to connect with your chatbot in one click.
9. Update your Facebook page cover image. Most people usually do not notice the “Send Message” button right away or do not associate it with a chatbot. A cover image with a specific direction guiding them to click that button will increase the flow of new users to your bot.
10. Make sure your Facebook page has a custom username. Each Page has a unique username that can be set and edited. You can edit your page username under the Page -> About menu in Facebook. Usernames help people find businesses on both Facebook and Messenger, so they can connect with and message the businesses they’re interested in more easily.
11. Utilize the Messenger Code for your bot. This code can be inserted on your website or printed to be posted in the physical world (flyers, newspapers, etc). Scanning this code via the Facebook Messenger app will lead users directly into your chatbot.
